The headland on Koh Phra Thong is located on the western side of the island at the northern extent of a 10km beach, bordering the Andaman sea. The beach forms an isthmus at it’s northern tip where it meets a sheltered bay over looking other islands in the archipelago and the mountainous mainland. The 3.2 acres offered for sale is the most attractive development land on the island, and possibly even Thailand. Both ocean and bay views can be enjoyed from almost every viewpoint.The land benefits from being in juxtaposition to two forested hills, havens for a variety of wildlife including rare hornbills. The sheltered bay provides the only direct access point from the sea to the 10km ocean front beach. The bay borders an additional 3.2 acres, of non-titled land. The title claim rights are owned by the seller and will be sold together with the fully titled land. Koh Phra Thong (Golden Buddha Island) is the sixth largest island in Thailand, but remains largely underdeveloped. There is only one resort on the island (Golden Buddha Beach resort, owned by the sellers) and three small villages inhabited by Thais and sea gypsies with a total population of no more than 500. Over the years the resort owners have developed cordial, cooperative relationships with the local population and have taught nature conservation in the local schools.

The one resort on the island comprises 23 beach houses/villas that are let on behalf of the owners. Services include restaurant, bar, tours, diving, Yoga and a new spa.

In addition to its fine beaches, Koh Phra Thong boasts a number of unique eco-systems rich in fauna and flora. The mangrove swamps and sea grasses are home to the very rare dugong (sea cow) while the unique and beautiful savanna plays host to a rich variety of bird and animal life. It is certainly one of the best locations for bird watching in Thailand. The environment is so special that it was almost afforded national park status in the past.

The island is part of an archipelago that includes nearby Koh Ra, a mountainous island covered by primary forest and fringed by sandy coves. The Surin islands national park is a mere 50km away (there is no closer location than the headland on Koh Phra Thong), where superb snorkeling can be enjoyed. Nearby world class dive sites include Richelieu rock and the Similan islands, famous for whale sharks, and occasionally even killer whale pods.
